Business Modeling and Data Mining
This book is about solving business problems using data mining. It's not about building algorithms. It presents a broadly applicable, step-by-step methodology for taking verbally expressed business problems and transforming them into well-defined, quantitative models. It also closes the loop by showing you how to take mining results based on a given model and interpret them in terms of the original business problem.
If you're someone who analyzes data and builds models (such as a engineer, scientist, marketer, data analyst, business analyst, financial analyst, Six Sigma practitioner, biostatistician, consultant), or a manager whose work depends on drawing sound conclusions from data, you'll find the book useful.
