Do Smart Adpative Systems Exist?
This book focuses on best practices when using intelligent techniques and building systems requiring a degree of adaptation and intelligence. It is intended as a practical guide for experts from other areas and industrial users interested in building solutions using intelligent techniques.
My contributed chapter, “Data Preparation and Preprocessing” provides an empirical approach to the subject. Topics include: why data needs to be prepared, the 5 necessary data transformations, the 3 modes of information transmission, sensitivity and insensitivity to modes of information transmission, measuring information transmission from a dataset, the effects of various preparation techniques and practices, and an outline sketch of a suggested data preparation method.
